CORFU’S DISTINCTIVE DOUBLE-SIDED BEACH

Porto Timoni Beach on Corfu is set along a distinctive double bay, where two crescent-shaped beaches meet back-to-back just separated by a narrow strip of land. Accessed via a hike down from the village of Afionas, the beach remains relatively untouched, with its limited accessibility helping preserve a quiet and more natural setting. Each side of the bay offers slightly different conditions, but overall the water is calm and clear, well-suited for swimming and even snorkeling. The shoreline is a mix of pebbles and coarse sand. The steep green hills that slope down toward the sea add to the special scenery. The unique geography and unspoiled surroundings give Porto Timoni Beach a sense of seclusion, which is often rare to find in Europe.

    Look for days where the wind will be blowing from behind the beach towards the water, as well as days with little to no wind.

  • HIGH SEASON

    High season peaks in July and August, and Porto Timoni is much busier during those months than it is at other times of the year. June and September are a great compromise with less crowds and excellent weather.

  • TIME OF DAY

    Due to the popularity of European beaches in summer, we recommend visiting Porto Timoni fairly early in the morning to enjoy it without it being very crowded.

  • CALM SEAS

    The Mediterranean is much calmer from June through October, which is the best time of year to visit Porto Timoni.
