WELCOME TO RAW AND UNSPOILED BEAUTY

The lesser-known Detwah Lagoon, located on the western tip of Socotra Island in Yemen, is particularly admired for its striking turquoise waters, white sand shoreline, and the unique, majestic hills. What makes it even more special is its status as part of Socotra’s UNESCO World Heritage site, which helps preserve its largely untouched state, enhancing its raw and unspoiled beauty. The lagoon is surrounded by towering, rugged hills and dotted with unique vegetation, giving the area an almost otherworldly appearance. The shallow waters are teeming with marine life, including rays and small fish.

THE PERFECT DAY AT Detwah Lagoon

  • WIND

Look for days where the wind will be blowing from behind the beach towards the water, as well as days with little to no wind.

  • CLEAR SKIES

Detwah Lagoon has a very arid climate and, as such, you do not need to worry about rain and clouds.

  • CALM SEAS

During the windier months of the year the ocean is more likely to be rough and wavey, creating less than idyllic conditions.

  • TIME OF DAY

Enjoy Detwah Lagoon all day long, as you will not find crowds here at any time of day.
