Many beaches in the area vary more in conditions and are more regularly visited, whereas Cala dei Gabbiani tends to be more peaceful. The absence of sand helps maintain the water’s clarity throughout the day, even with nearby boat traffic. The seabed deepens relatively quickly, making it well-suited for swimming close to shore among beautiful, curious fish. Set between limestone cliffs, the beach feels defined without being overly enclosed, and its limited access helps keep it less crowded than other coves in the area. This balance of reliable water clarity, minimal disturbance, and a truly breathtaking setting is what sets Cala dei Gabbiani apart as one of the best.

    Look for days where the wind will be blowing from behind the beach towards the water, as well as days with little to no wind.

  • HIGH SEASON

    High season peaks in July and August, and Cala Dei Gabbiani is much busier during those months than it is at other times of the year. June and September are a great compromise with less crowds and excellent weather.

  • TIME OF DAY

    Due to the popularity of European beaches in summer, we recommend visiting Cala Dei Gabbiani fairly early in the morning to enjoy it without it being very crowded.

  • CALM SEAS

    The Mediterranean is much calmer from June through October, which is the best time of year to visit Cala Dei Gabbiani.
