Jyo is the travel blogger/content creator behind the brand Jyo Shankar. Although she loves to travel to all kinds of destinations there is nothing she loves more than warm weather, tropical beaches and exploring remote exotic islands. She is a tropical soul through and through and on a constant quest to find the most beautiful beaches around the world which is why being a part of Worlds 50 best beaches is such a great fit for her. So far she has been to about 50 islands around the world and it is her lifelong dream to live on one!

Sonya has flown over 1.5 million miles to 82 countries in her quest to visit the world’s most exquisite and distinctive destinations. She is particularly drawn to the sea and the spectacular landscapes formed by the ocean. Her favorite beaches (so far) are the expansive white beaches in Mozambique, Exuma sand bar in the Bahamas, the otherworldly beaches around La Paz, Mexico, and the easygoing, social vibes of classic Bondi in Sydney. Sonya is excited to partner with The World’s Best 50 Beaches as she discovers more of the sublime beauty across this incredible planet.

They are a Finnish-Australian-American family very passionate beach lovers, living in the sunshine filled paradise in Western Australia. They travel the world with their two children capturing nature and creating beautiful imagery. They hope to inspire others to care for our planet and all beings and discover the life of their dreams.

Having grown up on an island she knows that not all beaches are the same and every island and beach is unique with its own local story, marine life and trademarks. She is also involved with ocean conservation being a chairman of an NGO and ambassador to Oceanic Global. We are thrilled she is also a World’s 50 Best Beaches Ambassador.

Dimitris started traveling in 2019 taking his drone along on all of his trips capturing images and videos. Before that he was in computer IT but the cinematography captured his passion and he now owns his own cinematography business. Being born in Greece Dimitris love to travel to natural places as he truly believes nature cannot be replaced with even the most beautiful city. To him the beach is a place that your mind and soul can relax and wash away all your stress and anxiety. We are lucky he shares his insight and passion with us!

Fast forward to today and he currently lives a mere 800 steps from one of Sydney, Australia’s most popular beaches where he spends his time chasing sunrises as they appear over the ocean. He likes travelling the world hunting out the best sunrise and sunset spots, which often are right on some of Earth’s best beaches.
